Motorhoming in the Midi-Pyrénées

Ariège, Aveyron, Gers, Haute-Garonne, Hautes-Pyrénées, Lot, Tarn, and Tarn et Garonne are the eight departments which make up the region of the Midi-Pyrénées situated in the south west of France where Ariege and the Hautes-Pyrénées border on Spain.  Here the natural wilderness is combined with a rich historical heritage and the art of good living.  If you’re planning to do some motorhome travel in France, or thinking of hiring a motorhome in France or hiring a motorhome in England, the Midi-Pyrénées is the second biggest region of France covering more than 45,000km² and offers some really breathtaking sights.

Midi-Pyrénées is home to Toulouse, its biggest town, well known for its quality of living.  The Valleys of the Tarn invite you to wander, tranquillity assured.  The mountains, from Aubrac in the north to the Pyrénées in the south, are a breathtaking wilderness to explore.  The path of Saint Jacques de Compostelle is a very popular pilgrimage undertaken by a great number of French people every year.  You will be able to follow the route through the spectacular countryside of the Midi-Pyrénées.

If you like to sample the delights on offer when you’re on your travels there are plenty of things to spoil yourself with in the Midi-Pyrénées: Cheeses such as the Roquefort, foie gras from Gers, truffles from Lot, not forgetting to mention of course the superb regional wines such as Cahors.  You might need a place to stay over so check out the free Aires de Service in the Midi-Pyrénées and take time to make the most of your visit.
